International projects and international cooperation

 

 

In the modern world, international cooperation and coordination serves as a platform for ensuring sustainable economic growth, prevention and overcoming of disbalances and deficits, enhancing living standards, technologies and knowledge development and transfer, environment protection, social and economic development, poverty alleviation in developing countries and meeting the other Millennium Development Goals. Governments co-operate in search for collective decisions and mechanisms, aimed at solving global problems and reaching common goals within formal and informal institutions at the regional and global levels.

International mechanisms of cooperation create favorable environment carrying out joint analysis of experience to reveal and share the best solutions and practices in different politics areas and forge concerted actions. The value of such cooperation is undoubted both for high politics and sector policies, governmental and nongovernmental organizations.

Education is a barometer of national economy and society competitiveness at large, the area where governments and professional associations unite efforts. Countries make substantial investments in education, and enhancing the efficiency of education, its quality and access is a shared concern and objective.

Countries work jointly to elaborate the most effective policies and coordinate efforts in this sphere within specialized structures of Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development , United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization , The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, European Union and other regional organizations and integration associations.

Academic communities cooperate within international and regional associations, inter alia: Education International , European Universities Association,  Programme on Institutional Management in Higher Education and other professional international and regional organizations.

The National Training Foundation aims to contribute to increasing level of integration of the Russian education system into the global education area, integration into international networks at different levels (epistemic communities, professional academic associations, institutions), enhancing the level and quality of Russian educational institutions participation in international organizations, projects, programmes and processes, promotion of the Russian education system and best practices internationally, as well as peer learning and implementation of the best international practices and experience in Russia.
